On Monday I packed up my car with all of my guitars and recording gear and set off to Friendship, Maine to record a new full-length album. Rick and Joanie Betterley, the parents of my great friend Chip, graciously and generously offered the use of their beautiful cottage for the month of March. They had shown me photos in the months leading up, and I knew it was going to be gorgeous, but I'm honestly astonished at how beautiful this place is.
This is the view from the back of the cottage
I spent the first day unpacking the car and figuring out the best place to set up shop for the month, and I ran into and conquered a minor hiccup. I have this 50 foot long snake of cables that I created to be able to keep my desktop computer in another room, but it doesn't want to play nice with my new audio interface, so for the time being I've resorted to some old fashioned means of sound proofing.
The computer is in there... somewhere
In any case, I've got a new CPU radiator/fan coming in the mail that should be significantly quieter, so such precautions ought to become unneccessary. Hiccup aside, I've started tracking, and it sounds great so far! OK, back to it then!
